The Baked Shop REVIEW

The Baked Shop is a craft cannabis edible company located in Toronto that specializes in small-batch, gluten-free edibles available online in Canada for mail order. We met The Baked Shop team at a networking event in the Toronto Yongesterdam Lounge and were fortunate enough to go home with a few of their edibles in hand! Thanks guys!

The Baked Shop has a full menu of dessert items to choose from, all ranging in different doses of THC distillate, and today we are reviewing their "Sucka-Dees" gummies, their "Brownie Bite" and their Cookies & Creme Rice Crispy Square.

The Baked Shop use lab tested THC distillate in their edible creations, ensuring accurate dosing and no cannabis flavour to interfere with the flavour of the edibles.

Brownie Bite (45mg THC)
The presentation of these little brownies are just adorable, and look very similar to a cake pop without the stick. The icing was really tasty and the sprinkles added a nice crunch to the soft brownie. The brownie itself had a sweet, coconutty and rich chocolate flavour. Although not as dense or chewy as the brownies I typically enjoy, this Brownie Bite was really tasty. Dosed at 45mg of THC, this is a great snack for the regular toker who wants something light. For someone who doesn't toke as often, this would be a great starting point into edibles as the dose is not too high.

Cookies & Creme Rice Crispy Square (35mg THC)
The moment I opened up the package I could smell the sweetness of this rice crispy square. Unlike most rice crispy treats that are laid flat on a tray and then sliced into perfect squares, this one seemed to be molded by hand, giving it quite a unique look.  What I really liked about this rice crispy treat were the pieces of oreo cookie embedded into it which gave it a great chocolatey flavour. It also wasn't overly sweet like many other rice crispy squares I've had in the past.

For a large rice crispy square, the dose is quite low at 35mg of THC, which is great for anyone new to edibles or cannabis. I personally would prefer a far smaller dessert snack for a lower dosed edible like this one, but for someone hungry and not looking for an intense high, this is for you.  It's large size also gives one the option to micro dose by easily dividing the square in portions.

Sucka-Dees (130mg THC)
These lovely green gummies come two in a pack and are shaped like adorable mini penises! In my history with edibles, I find that most cannabis edible companies can't seem to nail the right texture and quality of commercial grade gummies. These gummies on the other hand, looked great, had a perfect gumminess and texture, and were super sweet and flavourful. They tasted like sour apple and were dosed higher than the other desserts at 130mg of THC per pack, so they were right up my alley. After having one, I couldn't wait to put the next little green penis in my mouth (kinky!).

If you're new to edibles or have a lower cannabis tolerance, I would start with half of one gummy and see how you feel within a couple hours. Being a regular edible and cannabis user, I had both in one sitting. Within an hour or so, my worries began to melt and I was feeling very relaxed.
Summary
I really enjoyed having these Baked Shop treats, but the Sucka-Dees were by far my favourite. Many edibles in the legacy market (and even the legal market!) are often made with cheap and artificial ingredients, so it's nice to see that The Baked Shop make all their desserts gluten-free and with quality-sourced ingredients. What I also appreciated was the detailed labeling that not only listed all ingredients, but nutritional information as well. You'll be surprised how many legacy market edibles out there don't list either.
